Machine collection

Our machine collection is located on the grounds of the brickworks Ziegelei Keller, plant Paradies, in Schlatt TG and can only be visited by appointment.

ARRIVING

By public transport
From Cham station, take the bus no. 43 in the direction of Hagendorn, Rumentikon to the stop „Hagendorn, Ziegelei-Museum“. Cross the main road just at the bus stop and walk to the right along the field to the turnoff into the small forest (brown road sign “Ziegelei-Musem”). Distance from the bus stop approx. 500 m / 6 minutes.

By car
Autobahn (superhighway) A4, exit 33 „Cham“. From there, take the main road in the direction of Sins. Drive past the turnoff to Hagendorn and turn left after 350 m into the small forest (brown road sign “Ziegelei-Musem”). There are only few parking spaces.

For navigation system users:
Depending on your device, our address (Ziegelhütte) is listed either in Hagendorn or Cham.
Caution: if your device is not up-to-date, the search for the POI “Ziegelei-Museum” could lead you to our old address at the Riedstrasse 9 in 6330 Cham which is quite a distance away!

FOUNDATION BOARD
The foundation Stiftung Ziegelei-Museum was founded in 1982. Its purpose is the preservation of the Ziegelhütte (brickworks) in Hagendorn near Cham and of the accompanying Biotop (nature reserve) in the former clay pit as well as the fostering of a brick and tile museum and all related activities, especially in the field of clay processing.

The foundation board consists of at least 5 members who represent different sectors/unions: construction sector, brick and tile industry, the Canton of Zug, the local municipality of Cham, Pro Natura Zug, Heritage Society of the Canton of Zug, Swiss brick and tile Association swissbrick.ch, Baumeisterverband, Verband Gebäudehülle Schweiz, kantonale Direktion des Innern represented by the Amt für Archäologie und Denkmalpflege and the municipality of Cham.
